Our Adult Dance Program offers classes in various dance genres to students of all levels and abilities. Whether you've danced all your life or always had the desire, our studios will provide you with the kind of class to meet your needs.

CONTEMPORARY JAZZ, TAP, STRETCH & STRENGTH & MORE!

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

CONTEMPORARY JAZZ :(Level: Beginner/ Intermediate)
 
This is Jazz Dance in its most Contemporary form! This is also where the 'A' LIVE MethodTM originated. With a mix of style, fluidity and breath control, this form of contemporary dance movement encourages elongation, strength and core stability.  
 Aurora Live Studios Contemporary Jazz is made up of a stylized form of movement that encourages stronger and sharper movement than traditional ballet. Emphasis is placed on upper and lower body strength, fluidity, and overall ease of dance movement. 


CONTEMPORARY JAZZ DANCE BASICS (Level: Basic)
 
This is the class for anyone who has ever said, "I'm not a dancer, "I don't know how to dance", or "I know nothing about dance"!
 
This class has been designed to give anyone who has ever had a passion, desire, or interest in learning dance of any kind, a place to begin.
Focus and emphasis is placed on helping adults become familiar with their bodies and the possibilities that lie within those bodies to move with ease and grace. (This includes men!)
Co-ordination, flexibility, core strength, and stability are the basis for all curriculum covered within this class. 


TAP: (Level: Basic/Beginner) 
 This class offers an introduction to Tap Dance, through the exploration of rhythm and musicality. Join us and discover the magic that can be made with your own two feet. Emphasis is placed on blending physical co-ordination with an ability to hear music. Look forward to walking/tapping away with a whole new set of skills! 

Stretch & Strength: (All Levels) 

A uniquely designed series of deep, breath connected, active stretching exercises dedicated to improving flexibility/mobility and increasing overall physical strength without equipment.

Emphasis is placed on facilitated (assisted) stretching exercises designed to assist individuals of all fitness levels improve flexibility, improve mobility, improve posture, prevent injury, alleviate chronic pain in overused muscle groups, improve ones ability to relax, improve mood, and so much more.

LEVELS:

BASIC - Suitable for those students who have no previous dance experience.
 

BEGINNER - Suitable for those students who have been introduced to dance, but may have a limited amount of experience and/or knowledge of specific techniques.

INTERMEDIATE - Suitable for those students who have knowledge and familiarity beyond beginner techniques.
 

ADVANCED - Proficiency in technique is required for this level. Techniques are taught at an accelerated learning pace. 


All registered classes are six week sessions.
