CLASSES
JAZZ:
A stylized form of movement that encourages stronger and sharper movements than traditional ballet. It is designed to promote a contemporary and stylish movement that will help children develop a keener sense of musicality and rhythm as it relates to their overall movement ability. Focus is also placed on mastering basic jazz techniques, including turns and jumps.
BALLET:
A traditional form of movement that encourages fluidity, grace, poise, and upper and lower body strength necessary to execute these qualities. Emphasis is placed on body alignment and co-ordination while children learn basic techniques including arm and foot placement, classical turns and jumps, and an overall appreciation for this specific form of movement.
HIP-HOP:
A contemporary style of dance that encourages sharp, rhythmical movement. Emphasis is placed on mastering choreography with skill and precision. Musicality and timing are essential to execute this dance form correctly.
TAP:
Rhythm and musicality are the focus of this dance form. Careful footwork along with a strong sense of rhythm are essential for proper execution of any steps in tap dance. Co-ordination, speed, and accuracy of footwork combine to make for an intense mixture of sound and music from the feet up.
