Just a quick reminder that.... "we are what we eat"! Be concious of everything you choose to ingest today. Everything counts. What goes in, will help with how you perform out. Be loving and kind to yourself and your body will always thank you!

It's on days like today, when the sun isn't shining as brightly as we'd like it to that we must find it within us to get out and get moving. Don't let a little cloud and drizzle stand in the way of your health. Get up, get out, and get moving anyway you can. You'll be glad you did!

It becomes very easy to make health & fitness a part of your lifestyle once you have found an activity you are passionate about! Get busy figuring out what you are passionate about and the rest will fall into place. It may be dance, weight lifting, running or any number of other physical activities. As soon as you've figured it out, get moving in that direction!

Breathe deeply today! Take a moment for some deep, focused breathing and you will find that this is enough to re-focus and center you amid the hectic 'go, go, go' that we all face on a daily basis.

Stretching is one of the most beneficial tools to improving EVERY aspect of your physical fitness routine. Stretch often and stretch wisely. Be sure to incorporate slow, deep and steady breathing while executing all stretches. Watch and notice how much of a difference it will make!

As November comes to a close and the holiday season begins, it's important to remember 'self' during these times of high stress. Slow down and remember the importance of eating well and maintaining your fitness/exercise routine as the rush of the holidays begin. Nothing is more important than your health!

December has officially arrived and as the weather gets colder, our shoulders move closer to our ears and our muscles often seem to be in a constant state of contraction. It's now more than ever that we need to make time to stretch and combat the tension with deep, cleansing breaths while we stretch. Our bodies need extra special care at this time of the year.

Consistency is the key to any successful fitness/exercise routine. We've all heard this before however, the challenge is making it happen. Try creating and sticking to a schedule that incorporates your choice of exercise (dance, yoga, weights) into a routine that makes sense for you. Avoid over committing yourself and finding yourself feeling badly about not sticking with it. You'll end up feeling great not only for the workout, but for following through with your goals.
Friday, December 4th, 2009
Slow down today! As i've mentioned before, it's a busy season and it's easy to get caught up in the demands of the holidays. Make time for exercise and don't neglect your routine. Making time for self is the one thing that you can be sure will ground you and re-charge your energy enough to keep going. Be good to yourself today!

Commitment is by far the greatest tool necessary to success in any aspect of our lives. Committing oneself to staying on a path to physical fitness is essential. The decision to do this must come first and only then, will you be setting the right foundation for a long and successful journey to sustained health and wellness.

Staying motivated to follow through with goals can be a challenge in all areas of our lives including physical fitness. Set your sights on the results which will include healthy weight, increased endurance, flexibility, strength and so many more. This should serve as a way to keep you motivated on your journey to life long health and fitness.

We owe it to ourselves to 'love the skin we're in', so check in with yourself and make sure this is happening. Fitness, exercise and leading a healthy lifestyle is definitely something we all need to maintain however, along this path we need to consider how unique and individual we all are and proceed accordingly. Remember, it's not all 'one size fits all' when it comes to diet, nutrtion, types of workouts and physical outcomes. Keep this in mind along your journey!
Thursday, December 10th, 2009
Open yourself up to the idea that things may not always go the way you planned. Over the holidays, you may have great intentions and be very clear about sticking to an exercise routine however, I think it's important to remember that it's not the end of the world if it doesn't all go the way you planned it. Do your best knowing that at the very least, you have a plan.

As you continue on your path to living a healthy lifestyle, consider your current routine and think about ways to possibly incorporate other areas of wellness other than just physical fitness. The emotional and spiritual aspects of our lives greatly affect how well our physical bodies perform so 'check in' with yourself and be sure that all three of these aspects are being carefully nurtured.

Instead of 'resolutions' for yourself for 2010, how about giving thought to how you may assist another person in your life on their fitness journey. Knowing that you are doing the best you can do for yourself, perhaps you can find ways to motivate and encourage a friend or family member along the path to physical health. This may possibly the best gift of all!

Inspiration...where will you find it today? We all need it from time to time in all aspects of our lives including our physical, emotional and career journeys. It may be written, spoken or seen as you make your way through the day. Look for it today and it just may be the 'thing' you needed to get past where you are at this moment.

Determination....something we all must posess in order to meet the goals we have set for ourselves. How challenging it can be to follow through with the goals we set for ourselves be it in exercise or life. We need to find determination within ourselves in order to reap the benefits of achieved goals. These feelings can be some of the greatest you may ever feel in life.
Be good to yourself today!

We're nearing the end of 2009 and it is my hope that this year has brought you numerous opportunities to learn more about yourself in all areas of your life. I'd like to offer a reminder that your health is THE most important variable in living well and it is my hope that you continue to nurture it in everyway possible this coming year.

Although it's cold outside and it can be challenging to want to leave the comfort and warmth of home, you owe it to yourself to get up, get out and get active anyway you can. Although outdoor winter activities may not be for you, try other activites indoor with friends that get your bodies moving. Gym workouts and indoor driving ranges are among the many activites that do not include having to bundle up. Get moving today!
Wednesday, December 23rd, 2009
Along with the importance of finding time for exercise this holiday, take a minute to reflect on your physical progress thus far. Where have your successes been? Where have you struggled? Reflect with care for yourself and think about ways to help you reach even greater goals in the coming year.
Tuesday, December 29th, 2009
Well.....it's been a few days since i've been able to offer a thought as the Christams Holidays have kept 'sticking to a routine' fairly challenging.
Having experienced this, i think it's appropriate to remind ourselves once again, the value in keeping a routine while at the same time recognizing that it is indeed work. Finding ways to stay on track with your fitness goals will always take a great deal of effort however, the rewards are well worth the struggle.
Happy Holidays and get moving!
Thursday, December 31st, 2009
Well....it's here! The final day of 2009! I hope you've had some time to reflect on the activities of the past year and have given some thought to the things you'd like to accomplish in the days to come. Hoping that the goals you set for yourself will be met with passion and drive. Be loving and understanding of yourself when they don't come in exactly the way you may have planned. Work hard, and the results will be great in all aspects of your daily life!
Happy New Year Friends! Best Wishes for a healthy 2010!

So....we're back in the swing of things! I know it's been a little challenging for me to get back into a routine after having broken from it for some time. This is most likely the case for many of you also. Be kind to yourself as you re-connect with your body and mind as you work towards making sure that they are both working together. Continue to be mindful of the goals you have set for yourself and be sure to check in with yourself to make sure you are staying on the path to achieve them.
Best Whishes to all for a productive and healthy 2010!

Not only will it be important to make time for health and physical fitness this year, but it will be equally important to devote time to our minds and the connection between the two. The mind/body connection is essential to overall wellness and this takes time to nurture. Take time today to think about how great an effect your mind can have on your physical body. Make sure they are aligned for success.

Finding enough time in the day to accomplish all that our lives demand is extremely challenging. I find myself struggling with this often. I've chosen to remind myself of the importance of time management and the importance of making time for my own personal fitness/exercise needs despite how difficult it can become. I've mentioned 'balance' many times and today is a day I find myself needing it more than ever. If these words resinate with you today, be kind to yourself, take a step back, and seek balance wherever possible.
Week of: Monday, January 25th, 2009
As time goes by, i find myself constantly searching for more time to accomplish all the things i need to do. This has become an ongoing challenge and i've mentioned this several times before. I'm sure for many of you, placing time for personal physical health at the top of your 'To Do' list does not always happen. Take comfort knowing that this is the case for the majority of us & that it's a constant work in progress. Adding a fitness, dance or exercise class (perhaps with a friend) to your schedule is any easier way to incorporate exercise without feeling as though it's taking away from the limited time you have. Schedule it in and you may just feel your 'To Do' list gets shorter.
